MAC AIDS Fund Leadership in HIV Prevention ProgrammeThe UCLA Program in Global Health collaborates with South Africa's Human Sciences Research Council on the MAC AIDS Fund Leadership in HIV Prevention Programme (MACFLIHP), which is sponsored by the MAC AIDS Fund and Joint Gender Fund. This year-long funded fellowship program is designed to support the emergence of new leaders who will contribute to the development of effective approaches that reduce the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence, and to promote gender equality. Furthermore, it provides a structured, supportive program to enable participants to learn about and engage in the exchange of successful approaches to HIV/AIDS prevention that can be modified to meet local needs. Fellows will attend three full-time, residential training workshops during the course of the year. Under the guidance and supervision of experts in the field, fellows will develop and implement an HIV and gender-based violence prevention pilot project. For more detailed information on the program or to apply, please contact Laurie Bruns at lbruns@ucla.edu or Lisa Wiebesiek-Pienaar at lwiebesiek@hsrc.ac.za. |
