The Global Health Program (GHP) was founded in 2010 under the leadership of Drs. Lee Miller and Risa Hoffman and unwavering support in succession from Deans Washington, Martin, and Dubinett. It has substantially grown from its initial commitment of fostering bi-lateral medical student clinical educational exchanges with partner institutions around the world (please take a moment to watch the linked video). Today, GHP’s programming offers immersive and longitudinal educational opportunities for select medical students through our pathway and concentration, as well as an adaptable model curriculum for our post-graduate residency programs. In 2026, we will begin a new post-graduate, pan-departmental Global Health Fellowship. Additionally, GHP’s core faculty and associates are involved in collaborative research, medical education and quality improvement projects around the world. We are dedicated to evolving our community of practice in a principled, reflective, and conscientious manner.
